Each Reiki session lasts between 45 minutes to an hour. (Unless otherwise specified). The treatments take place in person at the Soul Purposed Life rooms in the Wilderness Garden Estate, in Wilderness along the Garden Route (WC. South Africa)
All initial treatments include an introduction, as well as a short discussion around any existing symptoms that you may be experiencing. We will also discuss any areas you would like to improve on in your personal, work, emotional, mental and spiritual life.
As a first-time visitor, we will complete a little bit of paperwork which includes “Confidential Client Case History and Intake Form” and “Client Consent Form”.
Below is a short list of frequently asked questions that may help you answer any concerns you have before arriving for your treatment.
When you are ready to book your Reiki treatment with me, simply click on the button below, or on the top right corner of the screen to view my online diary. Choose you prefered date, and then complete the short online form, and select your preferred time slot and submit. I will confirm the date and time with you once I receive the request.
At this stage, all energy exchanges (payments) are handled as cash payments on the day of your treatment. I will be releasing an online credit card facility shortly, but for now this is the only method.
Most treatments take around 45 minutes. I allow for a little extra time so we are not rushed, and we can discuss any topics you need to before or after the treatment. Reiki is very relaxing, and we don’t want to rush you.
Most treatments last around 45 minutes to one (1) hour. The cost of each treatment is shown on the booking form.
You will enter a calm and tranquil environment to begin your personal transformation towards healing your physical, emotional, mental and spiritual levels. Once we are ready to start your Reiki treatment, you’ll be instructed to lie down, fully clothed on a treatment bed. And if needed, I will drape a light blanket over your body for warmth and comfort. In the background I play soft, meditative music to help you relax. There’s generally no talking during the session (you’re supposed to be relaxing!) but you are always welcome to let me know if you have questions or feel any discomfort.
Reiki is a hands-on treatment, and I may lightly touch your body during the treatment, or simply hover their hands above you.
When working around the heart and pelvis, I will work with my hands hoerving above. (For obvious reasons) We will discuss the process before we start the therapy, and if you would prefer a non-touch session I am happy to perform the whole session while hovering my hands just above the body .
Reiki is very relaxing. And you may even fall asleep during the treatment. Don’t let that stress you. It is perfectly fine to do so. Some people have reported feeling tingling, heat, light sensations, and visions of color, memories, or other images appearing during their session. The sensations change from position to position, healing to healing. Try not to ascribe any meaning to what you feel or don’t feel. Your experience may change as you try more sessions. Just relax and enjoy, and allow the life force energy to go where its needed most, and work for your highest good and benefit.
Prepare for relaxation! Wear comfortable, loose-fitting clothes. You may wish to try meditating before your session or otherwise clearing your mind. Don’t wear any jewelry or perfume that may distract you. And definitely leave the phone at home, or at the very least, on silent.
Every experience is unique, so be open to whatever arises for you after your session. You may feel energized and happy, or you may feel fatigued and need a nap. Most people do report feeling calm and clear-headed afterward.
Always drink plenty of water to stay hydrated before and after your session.
The number of treatments you wish to receive depends on what you hope to get out of your sessions. Your best bet is to discuss your goals with me beforehand to determine how many sessions and how often is right for you. Traditionally, most clients benefit from at least four sessions within a close timeframe, and thereafter a once every few months is a great way to keep balanced and in tune.
Multiple studies report no adverse effects of reiki, likely because it’s a noninvasive treatment. Clients usually report feeling relaxed after a session, but some feel energized. Depending on the nature of the problem, some clients also may feel more emotional or have other intense feelings in the days or weeks following a session.
While there is a professional code of ethics that governs reiki practitioners, there are no licensing boards like there are for doctors, nurses or even hair stylists. Reiki “master” is the highest level of training, but there’s a wide range of training and expertise among practitioners.
One potential risk is that clients can misunderstand the role reiki should play in a treatment plan. The code of ethics of the Reiki Alliance, a professional reiki association, clearly states that reiki practitioners work as a complement—not a replacement—to the medical care a patient receives. Reiki is also not a practice intended to instill doubt in other medical treatments and interventions. Clients are strongly discouraged from viewing reiki as a substitute for medical doctors, surgery, therapy or prescribed medications.
Clients should also be aware that while reiki—like yoga or meditation—may have roots in spiritual practices from long ago, modern reiki is not a religion. Practitioners and clients come from all walks of life and belief systems. Receiving reiki is not intended to interfere with or change a client’s spiritual or religious beliefs.
If you’re looking for a natural way to relieve pain, ease stress, or help your body heal, Reiki may be a great option for you.
Reiki may help ease:
● Pain
● Sleep problems
● Nausea
● Anxiety
● Depression
● Tension
Afterward, some people have a slower heart rate, lower blood pressure, and a drop in stress hormones. Also, their immune systems seem to work better.
Because of this, Reiki is sometimes used in alignment with conventional medical treatments to help conditions like:
● Cancer
● Chronic fatigue syndrome
● Infertility
● Disorders that affect your brain, like Parkinson’s or Huntington’s disease
